Tortuosity in Discharge

 

 

The above photo convinced me that the discharge could be traveling in a corkscrew-like path as if around some unseen axis.  The length of the two discharges are at least 3 feet maybe closer to 4.  I sent this photo on the back of my xmas cards and Charles Yost of the Electric Space Craft Journal sent the material you see below.
